As visitors move through the space, the air shifts. Scent disperses, blends and reforms. The composition is never fixed but continuously changes through the presence of those within it. Each movement alters the work.
Each breath completes it. You cannot pass through without shaping what others receive. In a time shaped by conflict, control and global instability, Key Minor returns to a simple truth: we share one atmosphere, and what we do, however small, has an effect. The piece brings this idea into physical form, making presence visible through scent.
The composition unfolds in two interwoven registers. Darker notes of smoke, metal and earth are held in tension with lighter tones of petal, citrus and air. Rather than resolving into a single outcome, the work suggests that small, consistent actions can shift the environment around us over time. The installation is constructed using natural aromatics carried by cultivated mycelium, a living material that connects and supports life beneath the soil. Here, material becomes both structure and meaning, reflecting how systems function through exchange, connection and care. Echoing Viti Vinci’s regenerative and sustainable ethos the work is designed to return to the earth, with all elements biodegrading after the exhibition.
Key Minor also connects to Viti Vinci’s exploration of collecting. If the installation exists as a shared, evolving experience, The Collector captures a more intimate moment, where something shifts from being observed to being held. Produced in limited editions, The Collector is a wearable perfume: a bottled story, a distilled emotion, created as a collectible work of art to be worn, experienced or kept.
